What is SRF?
Any waste that cannot be recycled is recovered as Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF), a highly effective alternative fuel source.
Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) is a greener, higher quality alternative to fossil fuel and is produced from mainly commercial waste including paper, card, wood, textiles, and plastic.
Solid Recovered Fuel has gone through additional processing to improve the quality and value. It has a much higher calorific value than all fossil fuels or the more basic Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) sources and can be used in more sustainable energy facilities such as cement kilns too.
We currently produce 50,000 tons per year of cleansed, processed and shredded SRF, which is then transported elsewhere to be turned into pellet fuel.
