Job description
North West Recycling, Cumbria’s leading waste management supplier are actively recruiting for a Class 1 HGV Driver to join our expanding team.
We employ over 100 staff, operate over 25 vehicles, and deploy over 2500 skips and containers from our 30-acre purpose-built waste management, skip hire and recycling facility near Carlisle, in Cumbria.
As a family run business, we are committed to helping our customers and partners to better, more sustainably, manage their waste. Our aim is to fully close the circular journey of the waste produced, through our ability to manage the entire process – skip hire and business waste collection through to recycling and full material recovery.
The Role
We are currently looking to hire an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to work within our existing transport team.
Responsibilities and duties to include: –
The main purpose of the role is to conduct driving duties on behalf of the company, as directed by the Transport Manager, Transport Planner or other nominated employees of North West Recycling Ltd. Driving could be across different areas of the UK.
As the face of the business to our customers, we’re looking for safe, polite and professional drivers to join our growing team.

Qualifications and Skills
The Package
The role attracts an hourly rate of £14 plus the opportunity to earn a weekly bonus. Any requirement for an overnight stay will also attract a £35 allowance.
We benefit from having an up-to-date fleet of vehicles and we offer regular CPC courses.
40 hours per week plus overtime as required.
20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays. An additional days holiday for every year of service up to 10 days.
Onsite parking & cycle to work scheme available.
We also recognise that staff are well placed to be able to recommend NWR as a place to work and therefore offer an employee referral scheme which offers an incentive to encourage such referrals.
