North West Recycling, Cumbria’s leading waste management supplier are actively recruiting for a Mobile Plant Operator to join our expanding team.
We employ over 100 staff, operate over 25 vehicles, and deploy over 2500 skips and containers from our 30-acre purpose-built waste management, skip hire and recycling facility near Carlisle, in Cumbria.

Our aim is to fully close the circular journey of the waste produced, through our ability to manage the entire process – skip hire and business waste collection through to recycling and full material recovery.
The Role
The role is working within the existing process shift team, involving the operation and usage of various plant machinery on site.
Operating several types of mobile plant vehicles including Excavator with grab, Loading shovels and Telehandlers for the safe and efficient running of the Waste Recycling Plant. The site operates several processing lines which require waste loading and supervision of the process.

Qualifications and Skills
The candidate must hold current training certificates to enable them to operate mobile plant either through internal or external assessment. Experience in operating all or individual items of mobile plant as listed above will be considered.
The Package
Competitive salary in the range of £12.50 to £16 per hour depending on experience and variety of machines the successful candidate can operate. Training will be provided to enable the individual to operate a variety of machines.
The role works on an alternate weekly shift pattern Monday to Friday with overtime as required. Early shift – 06.00 to 14.30 and late shift – 14.15 to 22.45 alternate weeks.
20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays. An additional days holiday for every year of service up to an extra 10 days.
