Dumfries and Galloway Council is responsible for the delivery of all local authority services to nearly 149,000 people living in the urban and rural areas of the region.

Since 2019, North West Recycling has been appointed as the preferred service provider for the reception, treatment, and potential disposal of various waste gathered from the Council’s waste service operations.

We supply a range of waste treatment services for Dumfries and Galloway Council consisting of the following:

  • 25,000t of Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) from Municipal Solid Waste.
  • 5,000t of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) from Municipal Solid Waste
  • 5,000t of glass and stone to treated to produce WRAP protocol aggregates
