Renewi is a leading waste to product company that gives new life to used materials every day. With more than 6,000 employees working at 174 operating sites across Europe and their extensive operational network, Renewi can source and reuse waste from all over the world.
As part of this network, North West Recycling are proud to support Renewi in their mission to recover and renew as much of Cumbria’s waste as possible.
We have worked with Renewi for the last 2 years solving a waste stream problem from their Mechanical Biological Treatment plant. To support their mission, we developed a purpose-built glass and stone processing plant to treat 5,000t of waste. This means we can separate up to 70% of the materials, and use them to produce clean glass, or stone for use as WRAP protocol aggregate.
The next stage of our partnership with Renewi is delivering a Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) to the specification required to fulfil the contract with WKE Middlesbrough.
Our work with Renewi to date has successfully diverted over 10,000t municipal solid waste from landfill.
In the waste management business, we are often surprised by what comes our way on the processing lines and within our skips. However, it is not every day that you discover a genuine war medal.
