North West Recycling Confirmed as Carlisle United’s Sustainability Partner for Second Season.

North West Recycling (NWR) is proud to confirm its official sustainability partnership with Carlisle United Football Club for the 2026/27 season. As the club’s waste management provider, NWR already plays an active role at Brunton Park – collecting and processing the ground’s food waste, glass, mixed recycling, and general waste at NWR facilities right here in Cumbria. This partnership takes that relationship further, putting sustainability at the heart of the matchday experience.

Now in its second year, this is a genuine, long-term commitment – one that reflects NWR’s belief that the best way to build a more sustainable Cumbria is through education, visibility, and community connection. Through a series of fan zone activations at Brunton Park, NWR will bring the recycling journey to life for supporters: helping fans understand not just why recycling matters, but how to do it right, and what happens to their waste once it leaves the ground.

For NWR, the partnership also represents an opportunity to deepen the company’s roots in the communities it has served for three decades. 2026 marks 30 years of North West Recycling supporting the people and businesses of Cumbria – and there is no more fitting way to mark that milestone than by standing alongside one of the region’s most loved institutions.

NWR’s Brand and Communications Director Sam Grant said, “To deliver a sustainable future we need to work as a team – and where better to do that than at Carlisle United, where the community comes together.”
