Partnership in Action: Supporting Eden Valley Hospice

When three local businesses come together for a good cause, the results speak for themselves.

North West Recycling recently joined forces with Story Contracting and Heidelberg Materials to support a community improvement project at Eden Valley Hospice — helping create a new surfaced pathway that will make a real difference to patients, families and staff.

The Project

The works involved removing and excavating 90m² of existing paving to make way for a new pathway around the hospice grounds. It’s a practical, unglamorous job — but one with a genuine impact on the people who rely on the hospice every day.

Our role was to provide grab wagon services and remove the excavated material, free of charge, as our contribution to the project. Story Contracting and Heidelberg Materials brought their own expertise and equipment to the table, and together the three teams got the job done efficiently and safely.

Why It Matters

Eden Valley Hospice is a vital resource for our local community, supporting patients and families through some of life’s most difficult moments. Projects like this one don’t make headlines, but they matter enormously to the people who benefit from them — easier, safer access to the spaces they need.

For us, it’s also a reminder of what’s possible when local businesses pool their resources for a shared cause. None of the three companies involved needed to take part — but each recognised the value of supporting an organisation that gives so much back to Cumbria.

Proud to Support Our Community

At North West Recycling, we’re always pleased to help worthwhile local projects where we can. Whether it’s grab wagon support, waste disposal, or material removal, we know that even small contributions can add up to something meaningful.

A huge thank you to everyone at Eden Valley Hospice, Story Contracting and Heidelberg Materials for the opportunity to be part of this project. We look forward to seeing the finished pathway in use.
