Giving a little back this Christmas…

We are proud to announce the launch of our £1 per skip charity campaign. This will see a local charity get £1 every time some hires or exchanges a NWR skip.

This year we are delighted to be able to restart the NWR Charity Campaign. Whereby we donate £1 for every skip hired to a good cause within the local community. Given that we delivered nearly 20,000 skips last year, that should hopefully be make a difference to vital communities causes. Especially in these tough times.

The very worthy recipient for 2023 will be the Carlisle Youth Zone. Since opening their doors in 2011, have helped to support almost 15,000 young people. It’s a state of the art purpose built facility which in addition is open 6 nights a week. Furthermore. it’s a safe and fun space where the potential of any young person (aged 12-18 years; 25 with an additional need) is developed and fulfilled.

Packed with engaging and fun activities, which are the hook that paves the way to deliver targeted work to those young people that identify as the most vulnerable in our communities. They aim to improve young people’s confidence, build self-esteem, reduce isolation, and raise aspirations.

Emma Rogerson, Development Coordinator at Carlisle Youth Zone, said “We are so grateful to Rick Allan and the team at North West Recycling. For the kindness and generosity. A donation of this magnitude really does make a massive difference to us a charity and to the lives of local children. As a charity we rely on the generosity of people and local businesses who support CYZ. Via simply fundraising or by making regular donations. We are delighted to welcome North West Recycling to the Youth Zone’s network of businesses. All of who have stepped up to support Carlisle’s young people”.

Rick Allan, owner of North West Recycling, commented. ‘We are really pleased to be able to support such an important local project as the Carlisle Youth Zone. Indeed, so many children are not fortunate enough to have the love & support of a caring family. The good work that the Youth Zone does for the kids of Carlisle is immense. Also it offers them a fun and productive space for them to just be simply themselves.”

Allan adds, “Moreover. we are incredibly proud to be from the local area, to be Cumbrians handling the region’s waste and anything we can give back , be merely it job creation, charitable support or environmental initiatives, we will.”
